How to Use SBI WhatsApp Banking Service?
SBI WhatsApp Banking: India’s largest public sector lender, State Bank of India (SBI) has launched its WhatsApp banking services, it said in a Twitter post. SBI customers can avail of certain banking services from the lender using WhatsApp, which can come in handy for many people as they no longer need to download the app or visit an ATM. This comes days after SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara revealed the bank’s plan to go the WhatsApp way.
According to an official SBI tweet, “Your bank is now on WhatsApp. Get to know your Account Balance and view Mini Statement on the go.”

Step 1: Registration
If you have not registered your account, you have to first register to use this service. To do so, type WAREG, then separate your account number with a space, and send an SMS to 7208933148. You have to send this message from the same number which is registered in your SBI account.
Step 2: Send a WhatsApp message to 90226 90226
Once registered, type ‘Hi’ and send on the number +919022690226 or reply to the message which you have received on WhatsApp “Dear Customer, You are successfully registered for SBI WhatsApp Banking services.”
Step 3: Start WhatsApp banking
Once you have sent your message, you will receive this reply:
Dear Customer,
Welcome to SBI Whatsapp Banking Services!
Please choose from any of the options below.
1. Account Balance
2. Mini Statement
3. De-register from WhatsApp Banking
Step 4: Check your account balance or get a mini statement
Reply 1 to check your account balance and to get a mini statement reply 2. You will get a mini statement of your last five transactions. You can also choose Option 3 if you want to de-register from SBI WhatsApp Banking.
Your account balance or mini statement will be displayed as per your choice. If you have any queries you can also resolve them.
SBI Card WhatsApp Connect
State Bank of India also offers WhatsApp-based services to its credit card holders through a platform known as SBI Card WhatsApp Connect. Through these, SBI service customers can overview, reward points, unpaid balances, and more of their SBI credit cards.
How to use SBI Card WhatsApp Connect?
Cardholders need to send the WhatsApp message ‘OPTIN’ to 9004022022 to register in the system. To sign up for the service, they can also make a missed call on 08080945040 from the registered mobile phone or use the mobile app.
