WhatsApp Released Unread Chat Filter for Some Beta Users
WhatsApp is working on several updates to give a better interface to its users. As WABetaInfo reports, WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to filter unread chats again to some beta testers. The app is rolling out through the Google Play beta program bringing the update to 2.22.16.14.
With the help of this feature, users can filter their chats by showing only those chats which contain new messages. Last month, the “unread chat filter” feature was rolled out for some beta users. But it was disabled in the next update for some reason.
WABetaInfo has also shared a screenshot of the feature. They write on their website “when you try to search for chats and messages you can use the new unread chat filter that will allow users to view the list of all their unread chats, even if they have previously been marked manually.”
At present, this feature has been launched for only a few beta users. The instant messaging app is planning to roll out this feature to more users in the coming few weeks. Users need to ensure that they are using the latest version of the app to use this feature.
WhatsApp is also working on the ability to create avatars for future updates. Avatar is a new way of being you on WhatsApp. Users will also be able to use avatars while making video calls and can even be used as stickers. The WhatsApp developers are reportedly working on a new section to introduce the feature.
